The Museum sells postcards, photographs and a number of books.  We hope to offer an online shop soon but currently you will need to come to the museum to browse and purchase our publications. Due to Covid safety, we will only be selling the Palace Guidebook and Around Bishop's Waltham in the Second World War at the museum this year. Please contact us if there are other items you would really like to buy.

Discover Bishop’s Waltham’s forgotten World War 2 history.

Trish Simpson-Davis

15 August 2020 is the 75th anniversary of VJ-Day.

Since 2012, Bishop’s Waltham Museum Trust’s oral history team have been recording memories of everyday life around this area during wartime.

This new, full-colour booklet explores the war through the eyes of local children, from evacuees to air raids, secrets to D-Day preparations. The stories, readable for Year 5 Juniors to adults, are accompanied by up-to-date photos and a map locating sites, so you can visit the town centre and plan trips into the scenic Meon Valley to discover their hidden history for yourself.

Proceeds will benefit Bishop’s Waltham Museum Trust. (Charity no 290709)
